When Lou signed up she was working 50+ hour weeks in her job as a forensic scientist, and she had been steadily piling on the pounds for almost 15 years. She was stuck in a cycle of emotional eating, she felt very uncomfortable riding her horse and her confidence was at rock bottom. Now Lou’s turned all that around. Her eating’s back in control, she’s gone on to lose over 7.5 stone, ditched her size 22s and is now loving being able to wear anything she likes in a size 10-12. Best of all, she’s maintained these results for the past 4 years!

The 4 Steps Lou Followed to Lose 7.5 Stone in Her 40s...
Step 1 – Diet Makeover
Over the first 2 weeks, we eliminated certain problem foods we’d identified in Lou’s diet. This reduced cravings and inflammation, allowed her to start seeing fast results from day 1. This also cleared up eczema she’d been struggling with for years and gave her more energy for both her long work days and during workouts.
Step 2 – Low Impact Strength Training (LIST)
We gave Lou a simple, effective workout programme to follow that fitted around her busy work schedule. This consisted of just three 30-minute LIST workouts a week (and no sweaty cardio). Her coach also adapted the exercises so she could still work out despite painful arthritis in her feet that developed after a horse riding injury.
Step 3 – Hormonally Balanced Eating
We changed Lou’s nutrition approach to focus on fuelling her body with the right foods that worked with her changing body around menopause. We also incorporated more magnesium that fixed broken sleep that started in perimenopause. Everything was tailored to her body and changing hormones to deliver fast, sustainable results.
Step 4 – Coaching and Accountability
To put all of this into action, Lou had the guidance of Trinity coach Rob, to make sure she was always on track and always seeing results. Lou’s journey was not plain sailing, but whenever she has challenges, her coach was on hand to solve those issues and avoid them derailing her progress, so she stayed consistent where previously she’d have fallen off the wagon on her own.
