Julie, who’s always flat out between her work as a social worker and a busy mum of five, joined TRINITY at the heaviest she’d ever been. She was lethargic, unhealthy, embarrassed and unhappy. She was squeezing into size 14 elasticated waists and bursting out of size 16 tops. However, now everything’s changed – she’s the lightest she’s been in 35 years having lost over 2 stone, and she’s got all her favourite clothes back out the loft, is now slipping into them with ease and bursting with confidence!

The 4 Steps Julie Followed to Lose a Stone in 4 Weeks (in her 50s)...
Julie had struggled to lose weight for years without proper structure and guidance. We put together a simple step-by-step plan with just a couple of small but important changes each week so it felt manageable but had a big impact.
Step 1 – Diet Makeover
Over the first 2 weeks, we stripped Julie’s nutrition back to basics, as she had become very confused after years of dieting including fasting, slimming clubs, low-carb and calorie counting. We removed hormone-disrupting foods for just 2 weeks to restore her gut microbiome, break bad habits and eliminate cravings, which kickstarted her results and was partly why she was able to lose a stone (14lbs) in just 3 weeks.
Step 2 – Low Impact Strength Training (LIST)
We gave Julie a simple, effective workout programme to follow that fitted around her busy work schedule as a social worker. This consisted of just three 30-minute LIST workouts a week (and no sweaty cardio). This meant she found it easy to fit in between client visits. Julie found the newfound strength and energy was invaluable when looking after her grandchildren.
Step 3 – Breaking Through Plateaus
Whilst Julie lost a stone in 3 weeks, she hit a weight loss plateau a few months into her journey (as many people do!). Her coach worked with her to find the easiest way for Julie to break through the plateau in the limited time she has outside of work and family commitments. For Julie this was simply setting a daily step target that would burn a few extra calories in a low-stress way – which is key to putting the body in a state to lose body fat around menopause.
Step 4 – Coaching and Accountability
Julie was worried she wouldn’t be able to stay focused for more than 2 weeks – previously she had always fallen off the wagon when life got in the way (which it does often working full time alongside caring for 5 children and 5 grandchildren!). However, rapid results motivated Julie, and whenever progress slowed her coach supported her with simple hormone-friendly solutions and the accountability to get back on track if she had a wobble.
