What Are The 4 Phases of a Lifetime Transformation?

Most people think weight loss is just about losing weight

“If I just lose X amount of weight, then I’ll be happy…

…and hopefully, this time it’ll be different and I’ll keep it off”

But as you know, it’s not that simple.

You’ve lost weight before, but you’re here because it hasn’t stayed off

It’s not because you couldn’t lose the weight…

(Although maybe that was the case if you were following the wrong approach after turning 40)

But it’s also because you couldn’t keep it off when life got in the way…

And it’s not your fault – diets only focus on the first phase of making a Lifetime Transformation: Reboot

(And they often don’t even do a good job of that one!)

But there’s actually FOUR critical phases to making a Lifetime Transformation, which must be worked through sequentially in order to lose the weight and keep it off for good

Let me explain…

PHASE 1: REBOOT

This is a BODY phase

This means it’s focused on optimising the body for weight loss

Which brings me onto Phase 2: Reframe…

PHASE 2: REFRAME

This is a MIND phase

You see, in order to be one of those “fit & healthy” people who look amazing and seem to maintain it effortlessly, you need to THINK like one of those people

YEARS of dieting (plus your upbringing) will have conditioned your mind to think a certain way…

And that way of thinking will have dictated all the challenges you’ve faced with food, your body and your weight

– Bad day at work => I need a treat

You know these thoughts aren’t helpful, but it can feel impossible to resist in the moment, almost like you’re on autopilot

It’s like a computer where the Hard Drive has become corrupted – no matter how many times you try and make it work, it ALWAYS fails

You need to reprogram the hard-drive, so the computer works properly again and does what you want it to

This is exactly what Phase 2 is all about

Losing weight impacts your metabolism

Meaning your “maintenance calories” – the amount you can eat to maintain your weight – drops over time

Even with a balanced approach like we use inside our Fit Over 40 program, where we only marginally reduce calories to keep cortisol levels optimised, this still happens

And the BIG mistake most people make…

…is once they reach their weight loss goals, they immediately go back to eating “normally”

This means they end up eating MORE than their maintenance calories and gaining weight rapidly

That post-diet weight regain is frustrating and demoralising – I don’t want it to happen to you this time, and I’m sure you don’t either

However, it doesn’t have to be this way

In the Reverse phase, we use a scientifically-proven process called Reverse Dieting… where we carefully adjust your calories over a 12-24 week period, to rebuild your metabolism and avoid ANY weight gain
